Finma BV heeft, in samenwerking met de Yavuz Gida fabriek in Turkije, een project opgezet waarmee de inzet van kinderen onder de 16 jaar tijdens het oogsten van de Turkse hazelnoten bestreden zal worden door het aanbieden van onderwijs. Daarnaast wordt er educatie en informatie aangeboden aan volwassenen. Ook duurzaam verbouwen en oogsten is een belangrijk aspect van het project.

Het project wordt al geruime tijd deels gesponsord door de Turkse overheid. Rijksdienst voor ondernemend Nederland (RVO) in Nederland zal het project de komende vijf jaar ook voor een deel subsidiëren vanuit het ‘Fonds Bestrijding Kinderarbeid’, waardoor er uiteindelijk tot 3.500 kinderen (die tijdelijk met hun ouders meekomen naar de hazelnootgebieden tijdens de oogstperiode) en volwassenen kunnen worden geholpen middels dit project.

Project Activities
